Bird Dreamers The interest in birds is recorded as far back as prehistoric man, for whom birds were important as food, decoration, and symbols of magic powers. Paintings on the walls of caves prove that ancient man took accurate note of birds and their habits.

The natural history writings of the ancients, particularly Aristotle and Pliny, reveal remarkable efforts to observe, describe, and classify birds. Aristotle described the food territories of eagles and ravens about 350 B.C. He studied the anatomy of birds, their eggs, and many of their habits. Birds even played a part in Bible Stories. In the story of Noah and the ark, Noah sent forth a raven and dove to see if the waters of the flood had abated.

No wonder there is such a fascination of birds. Birds have been an important part of mankinds heritage across the entire earth and dating to ancient times. You could say that the fascination of birds is practically in our genetics.

Bird Dreams seeks to explore everything possible there is to know about birds. A big undertaking, but well worth the educational journey.

Bird Dreams welcomes your input, knowledge, photos, research papers and stories. We will post them on this site with full credit to you, with a link to your web site. Help us to grow Bird Dreams into the dream that we have for it.
